Google Map tip - make your first stop Hinton, then Gregg River Cabin (this ensures the smoothest/easiest route instead of lots of back roads).

Method of transportation: carpool & own transportation

THINGS TO KNOW:

  • Gregg River Cabin is a rustic campground with a cook shack and space for tents/campers. There is an outhouse and pump water. (Water bottles will be provided.) There are no amenities: no power, wifi, or cell service. We will be completely unplugged.
  • Planned activities include quadding, board games, mountain biking, and shooting guns. You must provide your own quad or mountain bike if you wish to participate. You can bring your own licensed gun if you want, but there will be opportunity to shoot even if you do not have your own. Fishing may be available depending on water levels/speeds. If you have gear and a license, you are welcome to bring it.
  • Attendance at this event is at your own risk.  No additional insurance will be provided for any gear, vehicles, equipment you bring to the event (to use on your own or to share with others)

Release of Liability Waiver

This is a legal document. By signing this document you are agreeing to give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue or claim compensation. You are also assuming certain obligations, please take the time to read before you sign.

This agreement releases City Life Christian Centre – Church & Ministries Alberta from all liability relating to injuries that may occur during the Mens Weekend in the Wild and travel to/from the camp.  By signing this agreement, I agree to hold City Life Christian Centre – Church and Ministries Alberta entirely free from any liability, including financial responsibility for injuries or damage incurred.

I also acknowledge the risks involved in camping, hiking, quadding, mountain biking, fishing and shooting guns.  These include, but are not limited to:
  1. Physical Injury: Bruises, cuts, and abrasions, Sprains and strains, Fractures or broken bones, drowning, death
  2. Impact Injuries: Collisions with objects or other participants, Falls from height, Being struck by equipment or projectiles (ie: shot, or hit by axe)
  3. Environmental Hazards: Extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.), Uneven terrain or slippery surfaces, Natural obstacles (rocks, roots, branches, etc.)
  4. Equipment Malfunction: Failure of safety gear (helmets, harnesses, etc.), Defective or improperly maintained equipment, Unexpected mechanical issues (e.g., bicycle chain breakage)
  5. Overexertion: Heat exhaustion or heatstroke, Dehydration, Muscle cramps or fatigue
  6. Health Risks: Allergic reactions, Asthma attacks or difficulty breathing, Heart-related issues (e.g., heart attacks)
  7. Animal Encounters: Bites or scratches from animals, Allergic reactions to animal dander or venom
  8. Psychological or Emotional Risks: Stress or anxiety, Fear or panic reactions, Emotional distress from witnessing accidents or injuries
I confirm that I am participating voluntarily, and that all risks have been made clear to me. Additionally, I do not have any physical or medical conditions that will increase my likelihood of experiencing injuries while engaging in this activity. I may receive training from City Life volunteers in connection with my participation in these activities, but I acknowledge that in all events I accept that it is my responsibility to become adequately informed and trained or skilled with regard to the activities to be undertaken so as to avoid injury.
I understand that my participation in Weekend in the Wild may have undesired and unanticipated consequences. Notwithstanding this, I hereby release and forever discharge City Life Christian Centre – Church and Ministries Alberta and all affiliates, members, directors, leaders, volunteers and employees from any and all actions, causes of action, suits, claims, demands, liabilities, including negligence or breach of duty of care, and expenses I have now, or may have in the future in connection with, arising from or related to my involvement with or participation in this activity. I will also make every effort to obey safety precautions as listed in writing and as explained to me verbally. I will ask for clarification when needed.

I acknowledge that attendance at this event is at my own risk.  No additional insurance is provided for any of my gear, vehicles, equipment that I bring to the event (to use on my own or to share with others)
